Some people you thought loved you only needed you.

Some people you thought loved you only needed you

This is soo true.

But…let me add a “but.” Isn’t it akin to the way some people think they love God but in reality they only need Him? And, is it bad to need God? No. Then let’s not feel too bad when we need someone, or feel too important to be needed by someone.

The fact that the people that need you to get their needs met could be why heaven is keeping you alive.

That being said, the complaint here is “lack of genuine love and care.”

Without love, this situation becomes a carnivorous relationship where the person is only thinking about themselves and what they can get out of you. When you do a project, they ignore you, but when they need something, you will be the first person they come to. They know how to swallow their pride then—the same pride they couldn’t swallow to be interested in helping make your project successful.

With love, a person gifted with the ability to give can continue to give and give to the best of their capacity.

Now, here’s the thing: I felt God say this to me a long time ago. He said, “You don’t love me. You only care for what you can get out of me. You don’t think about what I truly want. Are you too busy to see that with each passing day you are closer to your point of exit from your world?”

This shook me to the core and made me open my heart to Him. I am now sensitive to and determined to build a real loving relationship with my maker.

Friends, I encourage you, yes reach out to others for help, but also help them with their own projects. And if you are the one in a position to help, help. You won’t take your talents to heaven. But above all these, let us think of what God wants. Our careers will mean nothing in 100 years’ time if we don’t use it right. Let us also learn to love each other for then we will begin to perfect our love for God. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
